ABOUT Arkateqq
Arkateqq, the brainchild of Woodro Skillson, is an artist, songwriter, music producer and DJ from New Jersey. Growing up admidst farmland, he listened to an odd mix of grunge, hip hop, folk and freestyle music, and found many gems in his family’s vinyl and tape collection. After teaching himself guitar at an early age and discovering ways to overdub instruments onto cassettes (essentially ‘inventing’ multi-track recording in his own style), he was drawn into the deeper aspects of sound engineering.
After finding success making music with others, he studied songwriting for many years and minimized his approach to production, unafraid to write more abstract material and thereby separating himself further from his contemporaries.
